This Motorized Double Roll Tong or motorized roll handling is used to move two work rolls simultaneously or one roll only. Motorized double roll tongs are commonly fitted with brass liners to protect the roll surface during lifting. Motorized roll handling can be designed to move the roll with or without chocks and is a common lifter used in roll shops to load the roll grinders. Chock stabilizers can be added to prevent chock rotation during operation but are typically not needed. The Motorized Double Roll Tong is a safer method of lifting than using a cable to lift the roll.
